Directors that are inspirational are the ones who have their cast/crew eager to work for them. We’re all just people, we’re not on the front lines of a war – we’re just making a movie. GM: There are directors that seem to thrive on intimidating their cast and crew though.JR: That’s their problem! The directors who work that way are unpleasant to work for. If a director intimidates you, he’s probably not a very good director. Besides that, there aren’t any directors that intimidate me anymore. Actually, it’s irritating, not intimidating. Sometimes it’s more intimidating to work with someone who doesn’t know anything about movies. He wasn’t just standing around while his dad was making movies. He’s got a great legacy of horror behind him as well.

But was there any trepidation on your part having the son of one of the most iconic actors who ever lived directing your film? (Osgood Perkins is the son of the late Anthony Perkins). I think it’s safe to say that you’ve worked with a lot of the best talent there is to work with. GM: You’re a veteran actor, and you’ve appeared in dozens of films and television shows. JR: So that was something we bonded over instantly. He lost his mom, and I lost my best friend. JR: Both of us lost very significant people in our lives on September 11th, 2001. GM: I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in what some of those parallels were… I just found that I really wanted to work with him. When we started talking on the phone there were a lot of very interesting parallels in our lives. The film’s director) was really quite instantaneous. The connection that I had with Osgood (Perkins. JR: Well first off, it was an intriguing script. I was wondering what it was about the script that made you want to appear in the film?
